Position Summary

The Data Entry Clerk reports to the Assistant Dean of Admission and performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties utilizing data entry and interpersonal skills.  Specific clerical responsibilities include: processing high volumes of admission applications utilizing several intricate procedures while maintaining attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.  Specific administrative responsibilities include: providing back-up for the receptionist in managing the lobby, greeting visitors, and answering phone calls.


Characteristic Duties

Minimum Qualifications

Specialized secretarial/clerical training that may be obtained through a high school, vocational, or technical school; at least six months of data processing experience; must be able to work at a fast pace with a great deal of accuracy; computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel; generally requires a minimum score of 60% on University Prove-It testing software for Word and Excel; excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are required.


Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with the University computer systems
