Position Summary

The Membership & Annual Giving Coordinator is responsible for fundraising efforts as they relate to Gilcrease Museum and reports directly to the Senior Director of Development of Gilcrease Museum. The membership and annual giving program at Gilcrease raises approximately $450,000 per year. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a strategy to increase the number of museum members as well as the number of gifts.

Characteristic Duties

  • Identifies, recruits, and stewards individual donors/gifts up to $5,000 and corporate gifts up to $10,000
  • Renews approximately 3,000 annual members to the museum
  • Develops, plans and coordinates appeals to acquire new members to increase membership revenue by 10% annually (with particular focus on gifts over $1,000)
  • Coordinates an integrated annual fund solicitation strategy
  • Identifies and cultivates prospects and develops plans to increase support from existing donors, including direct mail campaigns, targeted museum events, education programs, etc.
  • Plans/develops relevant special events as they relate to annual gifts, working in conjunction with staff in the design and delivery of print materials and execution of event details
  • Meets weekly with members of the Gilcrease Museum Development team to coordinate membership goals with other department activities
  • Coordinates with other museum departments and the University of Tulsa to increase membership promotion and recruitment and align event calendars
  • Works with volunteers in support of Gilcrease Museum Development efforts
  • Other duties as needed/assigned by the Senior Director

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; minimum 2 to 3 years of fundraising experience; superior marketing knowledge; excellent written and oral communication skills; professional and courteous representation of Gilcrease Museum and managing partner, The University of Tulsa.

Preferred Qualifications

Three to five years of fundraising experience for a museum, other membership-based organization or higher education is preferred.
