Position Summary

​The selected candidate will report to the Chief IT Services and Security Officer and will be the primary technical support contact for computer systems and technology in the College of Health Sciences.  This position provides installation service, tier two and tier three support for all computers within the College; provides installation services and primary support for computer labs and technology classrooms; and provides training on the use of technology for faculty and staff.

Characteristic Duties

  • Responsible for the purchase, configuration, deployment and support of Windows & Apple computers within the College
  • Develops and maintains installation and configuration procedures
  • Develops and maintains OS & software patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrades administrative tools and utilities as necessary
  • Responsible for the resolution of tickets in the call tracking system
  • Performs advanced desktop/laptop support on campus hardware and software on supported computers
  • Provides regular reports  of call resolution, problem tracking, inventory, and other metrics related to technology in the college

Minimum Qualifications

​Associates Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or other closely related computer field; industry standard certifications may be substituted for degree requirements; four years in supporting 50 or more computers running Windows 7/8; one year supporting Apple Operating Systems; experience with Group Policy in an Active Directory Environment; experience with a centralized and automated desktop management environment; two years of direct customer service/support experience; must have experience in creating and maintaining user support documentation; must be able to obtain and maintain CompTIA A+ Certification; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; must have experience in working with a variety of administrative levels and diverse groups of people; must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or closely related field; CompTIA A+ Certification, MCSE: Enterprise Devices and Apps; one year experience as Team Lead for IT related projects; one year supporting and maintaining applications running on Windows Server; one year supporting mobile devices; previous tier 2 & 3 computer support experience in an academic environment; experience supporting Microsoft applications in a multiuser environment​
