Career Counseling and Assessment

Career-exploration counseling is available for students who are unsure of which major to study or which careers to pursue.

In additional to personal counseling, Career Services offers an online assessment tool, FOCUS 2, to help students choose their major and make informed decisions about their careers.

FOCUS 2 combines five self-assessments, career and major exploration, action planning and decision-making in one comprehensive product. Students’ assessment results are matched to career options and majors and programs offered at The University of Tulsa.

Access FOCUS 2

  • Use the access code, career (all lowercase)
  • Set up a new account with a username and password of your choice

FOCUS 2 contains the most comprehensive occupational and educational information database available. The program has been fully certified in meeting the highest level of standards established by the Association for Computer-Based Systems for Career Information (ACSCI). It also conforms to the standards and criteria established by the National Career Development Association and the U.S Department of Labor.

Scheduling an Appointment

Students who would like to set up an appointment for personal counseling or to learn more about their FOCUS 2 results should contact Career Services at 918-631-2549. If you live outside of the Tulsa area and a face-to-face appointment is not possible, email us at

While most appointments can be scheduled within the week, there are certain high-demand times when you may have to wait to see a counselor.
