Don’t miss Family Appreciation Weekend Nov. 3-4, 2023!

Family Appreciation Weekend is a cherished TU Homecoming tradition, bringing together students, their families, and alumni for a memorable weekend filled with school spirit and community.

The festivities kick off Friday evening with a lively bonfire and fireworks show on Dietler Commons. It’s a time to gather around the crackling flames, share stories, and make new friends, all while reveling in the warm glow of our campus community.

Saturday is game day, and H.A. Chapman Stadium becomes the heart of TU Homecoming. Families and alumni join students in cheering for the Golden Hurricane and creating an electric atmosphere that’s hard to match.

During the weekend, there are ample opportunities to meet the dedicated faculty and staff who make our institution outstanding. These interactions allow families to gain insight into their students’ academic journeys, fostering a deeper connection between the university and its extended community.

Everyone is invited to join in the festivities. We look forward to welcoming you back to campus, creating unforgettable memories, and reinforcing the sense of belonging that makes The University of Tulsa a second home for students and their families.

Campus Walking Tour

Join TU Alumni Association for a walking tour of our picturesque campus. Discover stunning architecture, lush landscaping, and state-of-the-art facilities while learning about our rich history and vibrant student life. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the beauty and charm of our campus firsthand.

Two opportunities: 12:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, and 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4. Departs from Collins Hall Lobby.

Mixology: State of the University with President Carson

Parents, families, and alumni are invited to join President Brad Carson in the ONEOK Club Level at H.A. Chapman Stadium for a casual update on the state of the university and fun presentation from a professional mixologist. No RSVP required. Take the elevators under the west stands to the second floor to reach the ONEOK Club Level.

Pep Rally & Bonfire

The annual Pep Rally & Bonfire will ignite your school spirit! The Sound of the Golden Hurricane band and Spirit Squad will rally the crowd for our showdown with UNC Charlotte. This year’s TU Homecoming honorees will light the bonfire and a dazzling display of blue, gold, and red fireworks will light up the sky in front of McFarlin Library.

TU on Tap

Stay at Dietler Commons for the annual TU on Tap bash right after the Pep Rally & Bonfire. Enjoy free drinks and swag from the Alumni Association while you celebrate TU with your favorite student!

Stop 6

Official Homecoming Tailgate and Tent Party

Kick off your game-day fun Saturday with a free tailgate and tent party on Chapman Commons! Bring your friends and family for the concert, enjoy free food and refreshments at the tailgate buffet, and visit tents sponsored by various colleges, departments, and TU organizations. It’s fun for the entire family!

Homecoming Game

Happy TU fans at a Golden hurricane football game

After the tailgate and tent party, join the entire TU community as the Sound of the Golden Hurricane band leads fans down Eighth Street to H.A. Chapman Stadium for the big game! Make sure to wear blue and cheer loudly as we take on the UNC Charlotte 49ers. Game-time festivities will include special honors for distinguished alumni, students, faculty, and staff. Reign Cane!
