The University of Tulsa celebrates 125 years!
Our story began in 1894 and since then we have led, guided and nurtured students to succeed.
We are carrying forward the ideals of scholarship, dedication to free inquiry, integrity of character and a commitment to humanity. Educating generations of Tulsans and people from around the world is our passion and pleasure.
Within the last 125 years, TU has grown its campus and now includes the Gilcrease Museum. The University of Tulsa partnered with the City of Tulsa to become the steward of the museum and its collections in 2008.
The Helmerich Center for American Research at Gilcrease Museum through scholar engagement is the bridge between the museum and its collections to the university and the larger research community nationwide.
What has remained the same for 125 years? Our dedication to students. Our potential, incoming, current and graduated students are at the center of all we do at TU. Making every student feel accepted, engaged and empowered is the ultimate in goal in supporting self-discovery on campus.
TU was established 125 years ago, and we’re excited for the next 125.
Happy Quasquicentennial, TU!
