Vice President of University Advancement & Alumni Engagement
James Thomas Corey is The University of Tulsa’s vice president for university advancement and alumni engagement.
Before joining UTulsa in 2024, Corey served as assistant vice president of development at American University in Washington, D.C. There, he provided strategic oversight and management support for the creation and advancement of American University’s fundraising program and led teams for fundraising campaigns in colleges, athletics, and campus initiatives.
Prior to that, Corey served in fundraising positions at the University of Michigan from 2012 to 2020 and the United Way of Washtenaw County in Ann Arbor, Michigan, from 2010 to 2012. At the University of Michigan, he served as executive director of the Alumni Association during the $5.3 billion Victors for Michigan campaign.
Corey received a bachelor’s degree in history from Kenyon College and a master of public administration degree from the University of Michigan.
