Dean of Students
Matthew Ingram joined The University of Tulsa in October 2022 as the director of veteran affairs and has served as the dean of students since July 2023. Ingram, a retired U.S. Army colonel, brings more than 30 years of leadership experience, having served in a variety of command and staff positions around the globe. His command highlights include leading 3-1 Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 1st Armored Division at Fort Bliss, Texas, and in Afghanistan. Additionally, he commanded 4th Brigade, U.S. Army Cadet Command in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, responsible for 336 Junior ROTC programs and 38 Senior ROTC programs embedded in colleges and universities throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington, D.C. His staff service highlights include assignments as the senior intelligence officer to the NATO Land Command in Izmir, Turkey, and as European Command’s director of intelligence at the Royal Air Force Base Molesworth, United Kingdom. Ingram culminated his military career as the deputy chief of the European Eurasian Regional Center at the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington. He has also served in Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
A native of Yukon, Oklahoma, Ingram holds a B.A. in history from the University of Oklahoma and M.S. in national security and resource strategy from the Dwight D. Eisenhower School, National Defense University.
