President
University of Tulsa President Stacy Leeds is a sixth-generation Oklahoman from Muskogee and an alumna of UTulsa’s College of Law. She is an experienced leader in law, higher education, economic development and conflict resolution. Leeds most recently served as dean of the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.
With 10 years of cumulative service leading the top law schools in Arizona and Arkansas, Leeds is among the nation’s most experienced leaders in legal education. She previously served as the inaugural vice chancellor for economic development at the University of Arkansas, where she expanded the university’s intellectual property portfolio and substantially increased funding for faculty inventors and startups.
For more than 25 years, Leeds has been a professor and administrator at major research universities, including Arizona State and the University of Kansas. Her broad teaching experience includes property law, energy and natural resources, ethics and business courses for undergraduate, graduate, professional and executive education students.
Deeply committed to community and public service at the national and local levels, she is a former Cherokee Nation Supreme Court justice and serves as an adviser, board member and trustee for a variety of public and private entities. She is a former NCAA student-athlete and a lifelong sports enthusiast.
Leeds received a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis in 1994, J.D. from UTulsa Law in 1997, LL.M. from the University of Wisconsin School of Law in 2000 and MBA from the University of Tennessee Haslam in 2010.
