Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
George Justice has served as provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at the University of Tulsa since July, 2022. A scholar of eighteenth-century British literature and a frequent commentator on issues in higher education leadership, Justice previously served as Dean of Humanities and Associate Vice President of Humanities and Arts at Arizona State University, Dean of the Graduate School and Vice Provost for Advanced Studies at the University of Missouri, and as a faculty member at Louisiana State University, Marquette University, and the University of Pennsylvania, where he received his doctoral degree in English literature in 1994. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT and worked for Harper & Row, Publishers before going to graduate school.
