Jennifer L. Airey, Ph.D.

Jennifer Airey supports student success across campus by facilitating innovation in academic policy, curriculum, and organization. She also supports faculty through promoting professional learning and providing guidance on policies and processes that impact their work. Airey is a professor of English in the Kendall College of Arts & Sciences. Airey is also the editor of Tulsa Studies in Women’s Literature and co-director of The University of Tulsa Institute of Trauma, Adversity, and Injustice.

Christina Carter provides leadership for the Student Success team, which includes the Center for Academic Advising, Student Access, Student Success Initiatives, and the Office of Academic & Student Services within athletics, who are committed to the academic, personal, and professional success of all TU undergraduates. She works collaboratively with campus partners, both in the Student Success Center and across campus, to help the university achieve its goals to improve student success. Carter serves on campus committees such as the Retention Working Group, and teaches TU’s First-Year Experience 1001 and Essential Learning Strategies 1021 courses. She is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Athletics in Higher Education.


Danielle Macdonald, Ph.D.

As director for the Henneke Center for Academic Fulfilment, Danielle Macdonald supports faculty teaching, research, and professional development. The Henneke Center runs programming related to teaching, scholarship, service, and professional development including workshops, writing groups, teaching support, junior faculty mentoring, and new faculty orientation. In addition to traditional workshops led by experts, the Henneke Center runs programming based on models of mutual aid to foster collaboration and community across campus.


Monica Varner, Ph.D.

Monica Varner leads the Office of Continuous Improvement where she facilitates student learning outcome assessment and quality assurance processes for academic, cocurricular and student services programs, course evaluations, external student surveys, and student learning achievement of Tulsa Curriculum Program outcomes. She also supports faculty in academic program review, curriculum change process, program-specific accreditation, and academic strategic planning. Varner serves as the accreditation liaison officer for the university and leads the institution’s accreditation processes. Varner is a courtesy faculty member and teaches in the Organizational Studies program in the Kendall College of Arts & Sciences. Varner also serves as a peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission.


Vivian Wang, Ph.D.

Vivian Wang joined TU as vice provost for global engagement in 2022. In this role, Wang oversees the team of professionals who manage education abroad programs, international students’ recruitment and services, and facilitate global partnership development for the university. As the senior international officer, she provides leadership to campus internationalization initiatives and works with university senior administrators to implement TU’s global university vision. Prior to joining TU, she had a demonstrated track record of success at Oklahoma State University, including developing international dual degree programs, building strategic partnerships, and leading key global outreach initiatives.
