Position Summary

The Department of Physics and Engineering Physics at The University of Tulsa invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning in the fall of 2018.

A Ph.D. in Physics or Engineering Physics or closely related field and the ability to teach at all levels of physics is required. The successful candidate will establish a vigorous externally-funded research program that engages undergraduate majors in both physics and engineering physics as well as PhD physics students. A passion for teaching is essential as is a strong interest in interdisciplinary collaborations. Research areas of particular interest include biophysics and biotechnology, optics and photonics, and nanoscience and technology.

The University of Tulsa is a privately endowed doctoral granting university of approximately 4,600 students located in a metropolitan population of over 930,000. The department, consisting of eight faculty, offers baccalaureate and master’s degrees in Physics and Engineering Physics and a doctoral degree in Physics. www.physics.utulsa.edu
