Position Summary

The Carpenter in the Physical Plant reports to the Superintendent of Building Maintenance and is responsible for the general maintenance and renovation/remodeling of University facilities. Specific responsibilities include: renovation/remodeling of interior spaces by demolishing and reconstructing walls/partitions, installing and finishing drywall, paneling and wallpaper; painting existing interior/exterior surfaces and newly constructed interior walls/partitions; installing cabinets, counters and shelves; repairing and replacing doors, windows, and built-in furniture; installing floor and ceiling systems; performing glazing repair and replacement; ordering and picking up materials; repairing exterior fences; forming and finishing concrete; installing brick and masonry; and other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

​High School diploma or equivalent certificate; six or more years of carpentry experience in a commercial or institutional setting; painting experience in a commercial or institutional setting; valid Oklahoma Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

Certification as a Journeyman carpenter​


​7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
