Position Summary

This position will report to the Law Director of Computing Resources and be responsible for assisting with the installation, support and maintenance of computer systems. This position provides users with technical support for university owned computers, software, and primary services provided by IT (network, email, network storage, etc.).

Characteristic Duties

  • Reviews, updates, and resolves tickets in the call tracking system
  • Contacts patrons by phone, email and in-person visits
  • Troubleshoots computer hardware and software problems
  • Handles setups, installs, and configures computer hardware
  • Handles setups, installs, and configures software

Minimum Qualifications

Associates Degree in Computer/Network Technology; one year in supporting 40 or more computers running Windows 7, 8, 10; one year of direct customer service/support experience; must have experience in creating and maintaining user support documentation; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; must have experience in working with a variety of administrative levels and diverse groups of people; must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business Management or computer related field. Related experience may be substituted for degree requirement; previous computer support experience in an academic environment; experience supporting Microsoft applications in a multiuser environment; experience with Group Policy in an Active Directory Environment; experience with a centralized and automated desktop management environment; experience in supporting Apple/MacOS computers & devices

Hours

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Workdays and hours may vary with occasional evening and weekend work required.
