Faculty Positions

Position Summary

The faculty member for the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program will provide leadership in administering all aspects of the program, including curriculum, accreditation, student progression, clinical contracts, and evaluations. This position is appointed by and reports to the Director of the School of Nursing at the University of Tulsa. This is a 12-month non-tenure track position beginning January 1, 2018. Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience related to the position.

Characteristic Duties

  • Provides administrative oversight and governance of the FNP program
  • Coordinates family nurse practitioner curriculum development and review
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with the Educational Standards, Policies, and Guidelines established by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
  • Collaborates with other DNP Directors to coordinate activities between the programs
  • Monitors, guides, counsels, and advises students in their progression through the program
  • Coordinates the annual admission process for the FNP program
  • Teaches courses within the FNP and DNP programs
  • Serves on program, school, college, and university committees

Minimum Qualifications

Doctoral degree in Nursing or related discipline from an institution of higher education that was accredited by an agency officially recognized by the US Secretary of Education to accredit institutions at the time the degree was conferred; minimum of 3 years of experience in administrative, clinical, and didactic activities; unencumbered current license, or license eligible, to practice as an APRN in Oklahoma; current certification or recertification by ANCC, or AANP; formal instruction in curriculum, evaluation, and instruction; current knowledge of institutional and programmatic accreditation requirements for Nurse Practitioner educational programs; record of research, scholarship or achievement appropriate for the NA program.

Preferred Qualifications

Five years of experience in an administrative or leadership position in an academic setting
