Band Camp

This annual two-week day band camp is open to students entering ninth grade through seniors who have just graduated high school. The camp runs from Monday, June 10 through Friday, June 21, 8:30 a.m. to noon, in the TU Lorton Performance Center. There will be a total of three full band concerts:

  • June 14 at 7 p.m., Lorton Performance Center – Gussman Concert Hall
  • June 18 at 8 p.m., Tulsa Starlight Band Summer Concert Series at the Guthrie Green in downtown Tulsa
  • June 21 at 7 p.m. Lorton Performance Center – Gussman Concert Hall

The TU Band Camp will focus primarily on large concert band repertoire and performance. In addition to the full concert band, and as time and instrumentation allow, groups such as brass choir, woodwind choir or percussion ensemble may be added.

The camp director is Matthew Schepers, Director of Bands at The University of Tulsa. The conducting staff for the two weeks will be Jeremy Parker, artistic director of the Tulsa Starlight Band and Bixby High School director of bands; Chris Koehn, director of bands at Bartlesville High School; James Morrison, Coweta High School director of bands and Rod Mackey, Collinsville High School director of bands.

The cost for the two-week camp is $200. To celebrate students’ accomplishments and encourage continued growth, we are offering a discounted rate to students that have made any all-district or all-state band this year:

  • $175 for All-District Band members
  • $150 for All-State Band members
