Brett McKinney, Ph.D. Graduate Adviser

Brett McKinney, Ph.D., has a joint appointment in the Department of Mathematics and Tandy School of Computer Science. His computer science research and teaching interests include scientific computing, statistical computing bioinformatics, network theory, and machine learning. A native Tulsan, McKinney did his undergraduate work summa cum laude at The University of Tulsa in mathematics and physics. He did his doctoral work in theoretical physics at the University of Oklahoma, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in biomathematics and computational biology at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Funding Opportunities

Teaching assistantships, research assistantships, and merit-based scholarships covering tuition and a monthly stipend are available for full-time students.
Student Research and Chapman Graduate Scholar Presentation Awards are available for students engaged in research projects leading to publication and professional meeting presentations.
The Wilfred Woobank Assistantship (tuition coverage and stipend up to $20,000) is available on a competitive basis.
The Dissertation Completion Fellowship, including tuition and a monthly stipend, is available to doctoral students in their final year.
