Co-Curricular Activities
UTulsa students have a range of opportunities for getting involved in cyber security beyond the classroom. One popular option is TURC – the Tulsa Undergraduate Research Challenge. Faculty regularly supervise TURC student research projects. To learn more, students should contact the faculty directly.
Root 66 Tulsa is the student-led cyber club, which hosts events and coordinates competitive learning teams. This includes the following efforts:
- UTulsa chapter of WiCyS: Women in Cyber Security
- TU CTF Club hosts an annual Capture the Flag competition for a range of skills using challenges developed by UTulsa students. Each year over 1000 teams worldwide compete in the virtual event.
- UTulsa regularly fields teams in the Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC), the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC), NCAE Cyber Games, and various CTFs.
UTulsa has hosted the Southwest Region CCDC annually since 2017.
To get involved in any of these events, please reach out to Codi West, director of Co-Curricular Activities.
