The University of Tulsa has been a leader in cyber security research and education for more than 25 years. The School of Cyber Studies is the academic home for degree programs and the faculty who teach in those programs and conduct scholarly research. Because cyber has a long history at UTulsa and continues to be a focus and growth priority, other related programs are not directly managed by the School of Cyber Studies. These include:
- The Oklahoma Cyber Innovation Institute develops, tests, and deploys cyber research outcomes and technology developments. UTulsa leverages nationally recognized cyber leaders in academia and research and Tulsa’s dynamic business and innovation community to meet the global demand for cyber talent and technology.
- Cyber Fellows is a Ph.D. opportunity combined with a one-of-a-kind, hands-on initiative to solve industry challenges and deliver high-impact, commercially viable solutions. This doctoral initiative puts students on track to solve tomorrow’s cyber challenges through an entrepreneurial lens. Cyber Fellows work with academic and commercial mentors and regularly engage founders, cyber professionals, and investors throughout the initiative.
- Cyber Corps is a Scholarship for Service program that has fielded more than 350 students since the fall of 2001. Approximately 70 percent have pursued very successful careers with the NSA or CIA. Other graduates have taken positions with agencies such as DHS, FBI, NASA, and the Department of Defense (DoD).
