The University of Tulsa Cyber Fellows

Today’s cyber security challenges require big ideas and bold solutions.

UTulsa’s Cyber Fellows program seeks talented students interested in pursuing world-class doctoral research in cyber research while supported by a full-tuition scholarship and competitive living stipend. As a pioneer of cyber security research and education since the 1990s, UTulsa was recently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top 25 cyber security programs nationally. Cyber Fellows is a first-of-its-kind initiative that brings together the university’s academic resources with Team8’s company-building experience and ecosystem to identify real-world industry challenges and transfer cutting-edge research into cutting-edge startups.

Join us in exploring the opportunities that exist at the intersections of science and entrepreneurship.

Transforming cutting-edge research into high-growth startups

The College of Engineering and Computer Sciences houses the TU-Team8 Cyber Fellows, a unique initiative that enables doctoral students to pursue research with high commercialization potential involving cyber security, data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and human/social behavior - all of which can be part of multiple engineering and science disciplines. Sponsored by the Tulsa Innovation Labs, the Cyber Fellows work with their faculty research advisors in partnership with Team8, a company-building venture group. While some Cyber Fellows pursue doctoral degrees in computer science, computer engineering, and mechanical engineering, others choose doctoral programs in cyber studies, which expands research pursuits to interdisciplinary studies such as finance, law, and economics.
