The University of Tulsa’s advanced degrees in chemistry and biochemistry prepare graduates with the practical knowledge and expertise needed for industrial, academic, and governmental positions.

Offering master’s degrees in chemistry and biochemistry, as well as a doctoral degree in chemistry, UTulsa provides one of the best-equipped programs of its size in the U.S. Students work with a wide variety of high-end field equipment, including state-of-the-art instruments comparable to those at major state schools. Distinguished faculty members use their broad expertise to teach specialty courses in materials chemistry, nanotechnology, medicinal chemistry, environmental chemistry, and more, while maintaining active research projects in these areas. Funding Opportunities

Research assistantships and fellowships covering tuition and providing a monthly stipend are available for full-time students and awarded on a competitive basis.

  • The Wilfred Woobank Assistantship includes tuition coverage and stipend of up to $20,000
  • The Dissertation Completion Fellowship is available to doctoral students in their final year of degree. This award includes up to 21 hours of tuition and a monthly stipend, which allows students the chance to focus on their research.
