The University of Tulsa’s M.S. degree in speech-language pathology prepares students to evaluate, treat, and research human communication and swallowing disorders.

Speech-language pathology is one of the fastest-growing careers in the U.S., and UTulsa’s master’s degree program ensures graduates are well equipped to maximize their opportunities in the field. Offered by the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, the program combines academic course work with in-depth practical experience and a strong clinical focus. Students begin their supervised clinical work in the university’s speech and hearing clinic, with subsequent practica at various off-campus facilities. The program’s last semester includes practica placements in hospital or rehabilitation settings and in public school settings.

Funding Opportunities

  • Graduate assistantships that cover tuition and provide a monthly stipend are available and awarded on a competitive basis.
  • Prospective students may also apply for the Paula Cadogan Graduate Student Scholarship.

Admission Information

  • 18-20 students accepted annually
  • Must have at least a 3.0 undergraduate GPA and a 3.5 speech-language pathology undergraduate GPA
  • Deadline for admission is February 1
