Mary K. Chapman Speech & Hearing Clinic
The Mary K. Chapman Center is now open for in-person therapy and telepractice sessions or evaluations.
The Mary K. Chapman Center for Communicative Disorders at The University of Tulsa provides professional audiology and speech-language pathology services to individuals of all ages. The center is a clinical learning facility of the speech-language pathology program. University students, under supervision of the program’s faculty, provide assessment and therapy services for a variety of speech, language and hearing disorders. The center is located in a well-equipped building accessible to persons with disabilities.
All audiology and speech-language pathology faculty are certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and are licensed by the State of Oklahoma Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 918-631-2504 for appointments.
Clinical services
The clinic provides a variety of services by appointment. Medical, educational and self-referrals are accepted. Services available include:
- Free speech-language and hearing screenings* for children
- Free hearing screenings* for adults
- Speech-language evaluation**
- Hearing evaluation**
- Speech-language therapy
- Audiologic rehabilitation (including listening therapy for cochlear implant users)
- Augmentative communication
*Screenings are brief pass/fail assessments that determine whether an individual is at risk for a hearing loss or communication disorder
**Evaluations are an in-depth investigation of an individual’s speech-language and hearing abilities
