The Mary K. Chapman Center at The University of Tulsa houses several specialty clinics and programs, including the Concussion Center, the Cleft Palate Clinic, Huracanitos and the middle school social skills and chess club.

Concussion Center

The Concussion Center at The University of Tulsa offers free services to patients from the UTulsa campus and the greater Tulsa area to support recovery from concussion-related injuries. This interdisciplinary center brings together athletic trainers, psychologists and speech-language pathologists to provide personalized, comprehensive care that supports a safe return to daily life. In addition to clinical services, the center offers education for health care providers and the community, as well as real-world experience for students in concussion treatment and prevention.

Cleft Palate Clinic

The Cleft Palate Clinic at the University of Tulsa’s Mary K. Chapman Center offers specialized assessment and treatment planning for individuals with cleft-related conditions and other craniofacial differences.

  • Held throughout the year
  • Each patient receives a comprehensive evaluation and coordinated treatment plan
  • Long-term records are maintained for continuity of care
  • Referrals accepted from physicians, dentists, schools, psychologists and other professionals; self-referrals welcome

Interested patients should complete the Cleft Palate Case History form and email the form at MKCC@utulsa.edu.

Other programs

Huracanitos

Huracanitos (Little Hurricanes) is a program for Spanish-speaking caregivers and their children. The focus is on developing skills in communication partners as well as improving language skills in children. The clinic runs in six-week sessions. Huracanitos es un programa para padres o cuidadores que hablan Español y sus hijos. La atención se centra en el desarrollo de habilidades en los compañeros de comunicación, y en mejorar las habilidades de comunicación en los niños. La clínica funciona en sesiones de seis semanas. Middle School Social Skills/Chess Club

This club is offered to middle school students currently enrolled at Town & Country School. The group meets weekly to work on social skill development facilitated through the game of chess.
