Summer Speech and Language Groups

 

Aphasia Book Club

This group will meet and discuss a current book to help members improve reading comprehension and expressive language skills.  We will provide materials at various difficulty levels to include all individuals with Aphasia who are interested.  The book and materials will be provided at no cost. The group will meet for six weeks from May 24 to June 28 at the Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges.

May 24 – June 28

  • Wednesdays 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm

Articulation Bootcamp

Articulation Bootcamp is an intensive group therapy focused on improving articulation and phonological disorders. This six-week camp will incorporate movement, games, drills and fun! Children ages four to eight who can participate in a group setting are welcome.

May 22 – June 29

Morning session: 8:30-10 a.m.
Afternoon session: 1-2:30 p.m

$80 per week

High School Social Skills Camp

This social skills camp is for high school aged students (15-18 ) with social skills impairments. The camp will focus on increasing social language skills in the areas of peer negotiation, active listening, social problem solving,
understanding non-verbal problem solving, figurative language skills, recognizing/understanding other viewpoints and conflict management in social situations.

June 24–27

AM session: 9-11:30 a.m.
PM session: 1-3:30 p.m.
$80 for the week
Sessions will cover the same content, pick the one that works best of your schedule.

Language Lab

Language Lab is an intensive group therapy focused on providing a high language and literacy environment to encourage language learning. It is aimed at children ages two to four who have a language delay.

May 22 – June 28

Monday and Wednesday, 9-10:30 a.m.

$40 per week
