The athletic training program at UTulsa prepares students for rewarding careers in a rapidly growing profession.
Athletic trainers prevent, evaluate, diagnose, and rehabilitate orthopedic injuries and illnesses. In addition to completing master’s degree course work, UTulsa’s athletic training students gain practical experience under the direct supervision of certified and state-licensed athletic trainers. These experiences take place in a variety of settings including Division 1 athletics at The University of Tulsa, orthopedic clinics, local high schools, and occupational and industrial sites. In the final semester, students have an opportunity to choose a national or local internship as their capstone educational experience. The university currently offers two routes to obtaining an athletic training degree: a five-year accelerated bachelor’s to master’s program, and a two-year post-baccalaureate master’s program.
