International Engineering/Health/Science & Language
The International Engineering/Health/Science and Language (IEL/IHL/ISL) dual degree is a five-year interdisciplinary program featuring a bachelor of science degree in an engineering, health or science discipline and a bachelor of arts degree in a language offered by the School of Language and Literature.
This dual degree program features a study abroad experience and an internship abroad during the fourth year:
- First semester – study engineering, health, science, language, culture, and electives in the target language at a partner university.
- Second semester – complete an internship abroad with an engineering firm, tech company, health center or lab in the target language.
Engineering, health and science tracks include biochemistry, biology, biology pre-med, chemical engineering, chemistry, computer science, electrical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, exercise and sports science, integrative healthcare, nursing, physics, engineering physics, mathematics, mechanical engineering, and others.
Language tracks include French, German and Spanish. Students interested in Chinese or Russian should consult with the program director.
Tuition Waiver
The Senior Director of Student Financial Services works closely with program participants to ensure they receive financial aid and/or scholarship funding for five years. Students are responsible for nine semesters (10 semesters of credit). Those who study and intern abroad for one year and complete the two degrees will receive free tuition during their 10th semester. UTulsa does not extend funding opportunities for students who exceed 10 semesters of credit.
New Students
New students should first complete their application for admission to UTulsa, then submit their application for the IEL/IHL/ISL program using the button below.
Applications for admission and the IEL/IHL/ISL program must be submitted by Feb. 1. Decisions will be sent no later than March 15.
