The University of Tulsa College of Law believes various people, ideas, opinions, and culture are essential to a productive society and community and is an integral part of academic achievements and established standards of excellence. UTulsa College of Law welcomes and values individuals who differ in age, culture, exceptionalities, ethnicity, race, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, socio-economic status, personal experiences, values, and world views.     The University of Tulsa (the “University”) is committed to maintaining equal access to its programs, facilities, admission, and employment for all persons, including by maintaining an environment that is free of illegal discrimination and harassment. In keeping with that commitment, the University prohibits discrimination and harassment by or against any member of the University Community because of their race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, pregnancy, pregnancy related conditions, age, genetic information, disability, military or veteran status, marital or family status, or any other legally-protected class.     TU Cultural Organizations
    The Office of Multicultural Student Programs at TU provides cultural and educational programming for the entire TU community. Its dedicated staff brings together many existing campus organizations and programs under one umbrella, enriching the TU experience for all members of the university community. The Chevron Multicultural Resource Center in Hardesty Hall provides a fixed presence on campus for programming and multicultural ventures. Students have space for small group meetings and access to a growing library of books and reference materials.

    The TU Center for Student Academic Support (CSAS) offers a comprehensive range of academic support services and accommodations for students with disabilities. All prospective students and newly admitted students are encouraged to contact CSAS to discuss their individual needs.

    UTulsa Law hosts a number of events throughout the year for current and future students and the community to encourage discussion about current topics. Check the events calendar for more information about upcoming events.

    Fall Networking Event

    This opportunity is open to current law students and local attorneys. It is graciously sponsored by GableGotwals and is hosted in partnership with the Tulsa County Bar Association Diversity Committee and is hosted by the College of Law’s Professional Development Office.

    Student Bar Association Diversity Day

    Diversity Day is an annual event organized by the Student Bar Association and the Professional Development Office. It includes networking opportunities, a career fair, and informational sessions with local attorneys.

    TU Law Vision Symposium

    Formerly known as Minority Law Awareness Day, this annual event brings college students to campus to learn about law school. Students spend the day visiting the College of Law, observe and participate in a mock trial, enjoy lunch with local attorneys, and hear from current lawyers and law students about their law school journey.

    Buck Colbert Franklin Memorial Civil Rights Lecture

    Since 2000, the Buck Colbert Franklin Memorial Civil Rights Lecture has honored one of the first black attorneys in Tulsa and Oklahoma. In the aftermath of the 1921 Tulsa Race Riot, Franklin served his community and his profession by assisting victims of the riot. Working from a tent because his office and home were destroyed during the riot, he represented clients, filed briefs, and fought back against the injustice of the riot and the city’s assault on the Tulsa black community. The lecture also honors the legacy of his son, the distinguished historian John Hope Franklin, who delivered the first lecture in the series. The annual event is free and open to the community.
