Academic Advising
- After the first semester of law school, all first year students with a GPA of 2.75 or below must meet with an academic advisor by the fourth week of the second semester to assess performance and strategies for success.
- All students with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or below after attending 18 credit hours are required to meet with an academic advisor each semester before enrollment to ensure that the student understands and satisfies all academic requirements.
- All first-year students must attend an Enrollment Workshop the semester before they enroll themselves in courses for the first time to ensure that they understand the College of Law academic standards and graduation requirements and to aid in course selection. Failure to attend the Enrollment Workshop will result in a hold on enrollment for the following term. All upper-level students are welcome to attend the enrollment workshop as a refresher.
- All students must participate in a Degree Audit with the College of Law Registrar in the penultimate term prior to graduation to ensure that they understand the courses which must be taken for graduation. Failure to participate in the Degree Audit will result in a hold on enrollment for the final semester of courses.
- All students who enroll in a reduced schedule must meet with the Associate Dean of Students prior to enrolling each semester.
Faculty Advising
First-year students are paired with a faculty mentor to assist in navigating issues such as time management, law school rigor, legal analysis and exam preparation. Faculty also hold advising days to aid students in course selection and career planning.
