The academic support program provides assistance to law students throughout their time in law school. Our ASC offers a range of services including:
- Individual appointments for students seeking to enhance academic performance
- Assistance in seeking further diagnosis of learning problems and facilitating accommodations
- Skills workshops addressing substantive courses and affective development
- Access to study materials, review materials, and study aids (JDEdge by AccessLex®, Themis plus UWorld Law School Supplements, and more)
- Reading vocabulary and comprehension testing
- Orientation presentations for new students
- Bar Prep Resources, including preparation for the UBE, Next Gen Bar Exam (scheduled for first administration in Oklahoma in July 2027) and California-specific exams
The bar exam is a pivotal step after graduation, and we are dedicated to supporting you throughout the process. Our Strategies and Skills for Bar and Practice course, known as “Bar Skills,” provides a vital head start into full bar exam preparation during your final semester. This specialized course equips you with the strategic thinking needed to excel in the multiple-choice portion of the exam and guides you through practice essays to maximize your score.
Following graduation, our support continues as you embark on the intensive nine week bar exam preparation period. We are here to address any bar-related needs and are committed to partnering with you every step of the way toward success. On Fridays, we have simulated exam sessions that are facilitated by area lawyers, bar graders, judges, and The University of Tulsa College of Law faculty with years of experience. During bar preparation, recent alumni also share their experiences and are available for mentoring.
At The University of Tulsa, we prioritize your academic and professional success, offering comprehensive support to ensure you thrive both during your time at law school and beyond. Welcome to a community dedicated to your growth and achievement.
