Dana Kuehn is a Vice Chief Justice on the Oklahoma Supreme Court and a proud UTulsa Law alumna. She previously served on the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals, becoming the first woman in state history to serve on both of Oklahoma’s courts of last resort. Her distinguished career on the bench and her deep ties to the College of Law inspired the creation of the Justice Dana Kuehn Symposium on Justice and Law, which brings outside scholars and practitioners to campus twice a year to explore current legal and public issues through lively, wide-ranging conversation.

Justice Dana Kuehn Symposium 3 Whisky Happy Hour
This past spring, UTulsa’s College of Law hosted the Justice Dana Kuehn Symposium on Justice and Law, welcoming a live taping of the 3 Whisky Happy Hour podcast for a program titled “The Declaration of Independence at 250: The Future of Republican Government.” Constitutional law scholar John Yoo, author Steven F. Hayward, and professor Linda Denno, who appears under the alias Lucretia, examined the Declaration’s legacy ahead of its 250th anniversary and its influence on legal and political debate. Panelists sparred over equality, natural rights, separation of powers and the judiciary, drawing laughter from the audience, before a private reception let students engage the speakers directly. The symposium, named for Vice Chief Justice and UTulsa Law alumna Dana Kuehn, brings outside scholars to campus twice a year for conversations on current legal and public issues.
