Special Programs

TU offers many interdisciplinary programs which students can use to customize their education. These programs provide interaction with classmates across colleges and gives students different perspectives when learning in and outside the classroom. Each program has independent requirements and application processes. Please review each one carefully and adhere to application deadlines.

Early Careers in Medicine

The Early Careers in Medicine (ECM) program provides highly qualified undergraduate students at The University of Tulsa with a unique opportunity to pursue an early provisional acceptance into the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine program, leading to an M.D. degree.

Friends of Finance Scholarship

The Friends of Finance Scholarship Program is designed for finance majors who are interested in expanding their professional network and who want to learn from the best in the business.

Honors College

The Honors College offers academically gifted and motivated students an exceptional and accelerated liberal arts curriculum, focused on the study of classical texts, in a vibrant intellectual community that fosters friendship, growth in excellent habits of mind and character, and service to the common good.

Honors students ask one another big questions at the heart of human existence, such as: What are truth, beauty and goodness? What makes a good human being and citizen? At the heart of the Honors core curriculum, these questions serve as a foundation for a student’s coursework within their major. To graduate with Honors, students complete the Honors curriculum, defend an Honors thesis or project, and participate in community service.

JOLT at TU

JOLT highlights the exponential changes impacting rapidly developing industries – such as health care, artificial intelligence, gene editing, media, finance, energy and more – and equips students to become innovative problem-solvers.

Jumpstart TU

JumpstartTU is a one-week international experience designed to serve as an introduction to the University of Tulsa’s (TU) academic and campus life through a transformative, intensive experience in Panama, Mexico, or Germany.

Leadership TU

Leadership TU is an education and development program to assist current and emerging leaders understand the role leadership plays in long-term success. It is designed to foster dialogue and build community among past, current and future participants by encouraging engagement in projects facilitating personal/professional growth and community betterment.

Pathway to Sports Academy

Launched in 2021, Pathway to Sports Academy was designed to create opportunities for students to obtain practical skills and experiences in preparation for a career in the sports industry. Pathway to Sports Academy will give you a direct look into the world of college athletics and beyond.

Presbyterian Leaders and Scholars

Presbyterian Leadership Scholars, through weekly luncheon meetings gather to pursue the knowledge and understanding of the Reformed life of faith as it challenges and encourages them to live out their calling (vocatio) in servant leadership.

Tulsa Undergraduate Research Challenge

The Tulsa Undergraduate Research Challenge (TURC) is an innovative program that enables undergraduates to take challenging courses and conduct advanced research with the guidance of top TU professors.

TU Scholars

The TU Scholar experience prepares students for a broad range of careers and develops the cognitive flexibility required to adapt to a changing global environment.

Air Force ROTC Program

Eligible full-time students at The University of Tulsa may participate in Oklahoma State University Air Force ROTC.
