Board Statement for March 11, 2020

The Board of Trustees of The University of Tulsa discussed and took action on a number of key issues at a regularly scheduled meeting yesterday, related to the mandate to accelerate progress toward financial sustainability by reining in expenses and enhancing revenue. The board reviewed and approved a number of recommendations from the administration including:

  • Approval of an early retirement program for eligible staff who retire by May 31, 2020.
  • Approval of the listing for sale of Skelly Mansion, the university president’s residence.
  • Approval to continue engagement with Huron Consulting to assist the administration as it looks to refine and implement some of Huron’s recommendations.

“While there is still much work to be done and many decisions to be made, the administration has made some encouraging steps toward setting TU on a transformative path toward a sound financial footing,” said Board Chair Fred Dorwart.
