CSAS encourages prospective students to examine their options before making final decisions about where to go to school. Our professional staff are available to meet with prospective students who may be interested in learning about our services, meeting our staff, touring our offices and discussing the types of academic support resources available at TU.
CSAS covers a range of topics to help students improve performance, both in Academic Counseling and at Academic Support Workshops. While students developed many of these skills during high school, CSAS can help them adapt and improve performance to succeed in college courses.
Several hundred student utilize Academic Counseling every semester. Academic Counseling is open to all students and involves academic mentoring and support to help students improve. Our Academic Counselors work one-on-one with students to provide accountability for coursework and partner with students to create individualized academic success plans as they pursue their academic goals.
Early Alert Programming
CSAS works with faculty and advising professionals to proactively identify students who may need assistance and support. Students can be referred based on a variety of factors such as making a low grade on an exam, missing class, or getting behind on assignments. CSAS actively reaches out to these students individually to help them get back on track before problems increase. CSAS can connect students to resources early and provide ongoing support as they work on academic goals.
The CSAS offers a comprehensive range of services and accommodations for students with disabilities. Our goal is to provide services that maximize students’ independence and ability to fully participate in the TU curriculum. CSAS staff work closely with students who have a diagnosed disability to receive accommodations that will provide access to all educational opportunities. Prospective and newly admitted students are encouraged to contact us to discuss their individual needs.
Social Opportunities Program
The Social Opportunities Program aims to assist students with disabilities in achieving academic, educational, and social success through intentional and collaborative opportunities for support and skill development.
Tutoring is one of the services we provide to ensure students understand the content of courses. The tutoring program at TU is designed to give students confidence and skills necessary to succeed in course work.
Academic Support Workshops are weekly group workshops open to all students. Workshop Leaders facilitate discussion and activities related to improving academic performance and skills. The workshop calendar is available on our website.
