Finding a job or internship

female student and recruiter at career fair

One of our main functions here at CaneCareers is to help our students and alumni find jobs and internships within their specific major or field.

“As a TU student, I was given opportunities to gain skills for success in my future job and put them into practice with summer internships at incredible companies. I am grateful to my professors, career services and employers that helped me reach my goal of full-time employment before graduation.”

– Peyton Manning, IT Analyst, Phillips 66, B.S.B.A CIS and Management

Resume and cover letter assistance

A well-rounded resume or cover letter tailored to a specific job posting is much more likely to receive feedback from potential employers than a general resume or cover letter that is sent out to 100 different businesses. We work with students and alumni to develop resumes and cover letters that highlight major accomplishments from their educational and professional experiences.

Jobs and internships in Handshake

When logged into the Handshake student portal, there is a tab entitled “Jobs and Internships”on the top left side of the homepage. Under this tab, students and alumni may filter from a full list of available jobs and internships that have been submitted to TU by both local and national businesses. There are multiple filtering options available to help find jobs tailored to a person’s specific needs.

If you or someone else you know is hiring, please encourage them to contact our employer relations staff at 918-631-2345 or canecareers@utulsa.edu.

Networking

We encourage students to develop and maintain a professional network online, whether that be through LinkedIn or utulsa connect. Studies have shown that students are 16 times more likely to get hired through networking than through online applications alone.
