Finding a Job or Internship

One of our main functions here at the Center for Career Development and Professional Engagement is to help our students and alumni find jobs and internships within their specific major or field.

Resume and Cover Letter Assistance

A well-rounded resume or cover letter that is tailored to a specific job posting is much more likely to receive feedback from potential employers than a general resume or cover letter that is sent out to 100 different businesses. Because of this philosophy, we will work with both our students and alumni to develop a resume that boasts major accomplishments from their educational and professional experiences.

Jobs and Internships within Handshake

When logged into the Handshake student portal, there is a tab entitled “Jobs and Internships” on the top left side of the homepage. Under this tab, students and alumni may filter from a full list of available jobs and internships that have been submitted to TU by both local and national businesses to TU. There are multiple filtering options available that students may use to find jobs tailored to their specific needs.

If you or someone else you know is hiring, please encourage them to contact Employer Relations at 918-631-2896 or hireTUgrads@utulsa.edu.

Networking

We encourage students to develop and maintain a professional network online, whether that be through LinkedIn or a variety of other social media sites. Studies have shown that students are 16 times more likely to get hired through networking than through online applications alone.
