College of Law Dean Lyn Entzeroth (employee email)

Dear TU community,

We are writing to let you know that our colleague Lyn Entzeroth has decided to step down as dean of The University of Tulsa College of Law effective July 31, 2021. Lyn will take a well-deserved one-year sabbatical, returning to teach at TU in fall 2022.

Since Lyn became dean on July 1, 2015, enrollment of first-year law students has risen nearly 45%. At the same time, tuition revenue has substantially increased, scholarship funding has grown and the college’s financial deficit has been erased. Lyn has led the college through improved programming and expanded clinical offerings, including the creation of the Terry West Civil Legal Clinic, funded through a generous gift from the Sarkeys Foundation, and the new Public Defender Clinic in partnership with the Tulsa County Public Defender’s Office. Impressive new faculty members, who are changing the landscape of legal education, also have been added to the college.

Lyn has not confined her talents to the law school, either. Our entire university has benefited from her wisdom and energy through her service on Deans’ Council, President’s Leadership Team and several other university panels, committees and task forces. Notably, Lyn has collaborated with teams in the Office of University Advancement and Alumni Engagement in a successful effort to forge strong relationships with an array of trustees, alumni, donors and stakeholders.

Although we will miss our friend’s guidance at TU Law, we are heartened to know that she will remain as dean through this academic year. During that time, Lyn is committed to assisting with the leadership transition and working to ensure the future success of the college.

Please join with us in thanking Lyn for her highly impactful work as dean of the College of Law and for being such an inspiring example of everything that is generous and uplifting about our TU community.

Sincerely,

Janet K. Levit, Interim President
Tracy Manly, Acting Provost
