Lamont Lindstrom, Ph.D., is emeritus professor and former chair of anthropology at The University of Tulsa, where he also served as associate dean of the Henry Kendall College of Arts & Sciences. His book “Tanna Times: Islanders in the World” was published in 2021. He is also the author of “Cargo Cult: Strange Stories of Desire from Melanesia and Beyond” (1993), “Knowledge and Power in a South Pacific Society” (1990) and “Kwamera Dictionary” (1987); co-author of “Across the World with the Johnsons: Visual Culture and Empire in the Twentieth Century” (2013), “Kwamera” (1994), “Kava: The Pacific Drug” (1992) and “Island Encounters: Black and White Memories of the Pacific War” (1990); editor of “Drugs in Western Pacific Societies: Relations of Substance” (1987); co-editor of “Chiefs Today: Traditional Pacific Leadership and the Postcolonial State” (1997), “Culture, Kastom, Tradition: Developing Cultural Policy in Melanesia” (1994) and “The Pacific Theater: Island Representations of World War Two” (1989).
