About
Chris Burris, M.Ed., is an accomplished educator and industry professional with more than two decades of experience in design, animation, and computer graphics. He holds a master’s degree from Pittsburg State University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. Burris is currently an instructional assistant professor The University of Tulsa, where he teaches courses in computer simulation and gaming (CSG). His teaching portfolio includes 3D modeling, animation, character design, environmental storytelling, level design, extended reality (XR), virtual production, and game production, fostering interdisciplinary learning and hands-on experience.
Throughout his career, Burris has been recognized for his excellence in teaching and innovative curriculum development, earning awards such as the PSU Excellence in Teaching Award and the UCO Outstanding Alumni Award. He has led numerous workshops and presentations, emphasizing student engagement and professional growth. With a rich background in architectural visualization, digital design, and project coordination, Burris brings real-world insights into his classroom. An active member of several professional organizations, he continues to contribute to the fields of computer graphics and game development through his teaching, research, and community involvement.
