About
Sean Latham’s teaching and research focus on modern literature, culture and media with a particular focus on major figures like James Joyce and Bob Dylan. He is the author or editor of ten books that explore topics like snobbery, popular music, libel law and the modern novel.
From 2013-2025, he served as the founding director of the Oklahoma Center for the Humanities where he helped organize hundreds of public programs that bring the distinctive tools of the arts and humanities to bear on some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities in our community. The Center now serves as a hub for collaboration, interdisciplinary research and public engagement in the heart of Tulsa.
He served for over two decades as the editor of the James Joyce Quarterly, co-founded the Modernist Journalist Project, founded the Switchyard Festival and is founding director of the Institute for Bob Dylan Studies.
