Cayman Seagraves, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Finance

About

Cayman Seagraves, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of finance in the Collins College of Business at The University of Tulsa where he combines award-winning scholarship with the practical insight of a former real estate entrepreneur. His research explores the intersection of corporate finance, real estate investment, and the emerging use of artificial intelligence agents in capital market analysis, yielding findings that resonate in boardrooms and policy circles alike.

In the classroom, he teaches finance and real estate courses, moving lectures and core theory online so that face-to-face sessions focus on case studies, discounted cash flow modeling in Excel, site tours, and live property analyses drawn from local markets. This structure fosters data-driven, experiential learning, providing students with repeated opportunities to present to industry guests and refine their real-world judgment.

Through active mentorship at UTulsa and leadership as the inaugural Blended Teaching Real Estate Chair and program chair for the Future Leaders of the American Real Estate Society, he advances both academic rigor and professional readiness. Looking ahead, Seagraves is developing autonomous AI-agent frameworks that enhance REIT investment strategies, optimize portfolios, and improve market analysis – projects that promise to provide analytics for investors, regulators, and scholars alike.
