About

Oren R. Griffin is the dean and Chapman Endowed Chair, and professor of law at The University of Tulsa College of Law. He has more than 20 years of experience in higher education as a faculty member, administrator, and legal counsel, and has served as an attorney with large and midsize law firms. Dean Griffin has been a frequent speaker at the Stetson University National Conference on Law and Higher Education, and is a member of the teaching faculty for the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Certificate Program regarding Student Affairs Law and Policy. Dean Griffin has served as an administrative hearing officer and program evaluator for the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the primary accreditation body for colleges and universities in the nation’s southeastern region. Dean Griffin’s teaching focuses on civil procedure, labor and employment law, and education law, and his scholarship has been widely published in law review and policy journals across the country. He is the author of “Investigating College Student Misconduct: Understanding the Internal Investigation Process in Higher Education,” published by Johns Hopkins University Press, which concentrates on the legal issues affecting the investigation of student misconduct in higher education.
