About
Kristy Covey graduated with her bachelors of science in nursing from Oklahoma Baptist University in 2000. She obtained a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Oklahoma in 2012 and is in the process of completing her Ph.D. in nursing with an emphasis in education. Covey is also a certified diabetes care and education specialist with more than 20 years of diabetes education experience. She has been a full-time nursing faculty member for five years.
Her clinical background is primarily community nursing, working in various outpatient clinics. She also has experience in school nursing, labor and delivery and outpatient surgery. She has taught community and diabetes content across all levels in the UTulsa School of Nursing BSN program. She is currently teaching fundamentals and skills lab in the sophomore level and population health in the senior level. Covey is also a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Zeta-Delta Chapter-at-large.
Covey is passionate about nursing education and the success of the next generation of nurses.
