Employee COVID-19 Testing (employee email)

Dear colleagues,

Happy new year and welcome back to The University of Tulsa. As a part of our Winter Wellness protocols, TU strongly recommends that all faculty and staff working on campus engage in regular COVID-19 testing. Testing is critically important to our ability to mitigate virus transmission on campus and to keep our students and employees safe.

TU has partnered with Tulsa-based Certigen Laboratory to provide on-campus testing for students, faculty and staff in the form of a self-administered anterior nasal swab. The cost of this testing is covered by most insurance plans, including BlueCross BlueShield of Oklahoma.

Testing appointments are available Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Register for your testing appointment here. The testing site is now located to the east of the Alexander Health Center (AHC) in the McFarlin parking lot. You can either walk up or drive through the testing site. You must bring a state or federal government-issued ID (driver’s license or passport) and your insurance card with you to the testing site.

You will receive your results within two business days via email. If your results are positive, please do not go to work. Stay home and call AHC (918-631-2241) as well as your supervisor as soon as possible to let TU know that your test result was positive. AHC staff will take your name and contact information, and a staff member will reach out for an interview and to discuss next steps.

If your results are negative, please continue to wear a mask, wash your hands and maintain 6 feet of distance between yourself and others. A negative test means you did not have COVID-19 at the time of your test; however, you could develop it in the future, so please remain vigilant and complete the Daily Health Check on the TU COVID-19 webpage.

TU’s COVID-19 management team will continue to keep you informed through weekly campus conversations on Thursdays at 1 p.m. throughout the spring semester as well as by publishing a weekly COVID-19 dashboard with important information on our campus health and safety, including our positivity rate. I urge you to take advantage of these resources and to stay informed.

Please email covid19@utulsa.edu if you have questions or concerns. Thank you for your help in keeping our campus community as safe as possible.

Sincerely,

Matt Warren
Vice President for Risk Management and Chief Compliance Officer
