Employee News and Updates (faculty and staff email) — March 20, 2020

Campus access

Beginning March 23, employees are required to contact security dispatchers at 918-631-5555 if they need to be on campus. Building doors may be locked and spaces may need to be cleaned after use.

To keep everyone safe by reducing the number of people on campus, most faculty and staff will work remotely until the social distancing policy is lifted. Please contact security if you have further concerns, or reach out to your dean about teaching and research procedures.

Virtual health resources

Employees with TU’s Blue Cross Blue Shield medical insurance coverage have access to resources including audio health topics and nonemergency virtual medical and behavioral health visits. In response to the COVID-19 public health emergency, BCBS is waiving in-network copays for medically necessary medical and behavioral health services delivered via telemedicine. Find more information on this benefit under Virtual Visits on the TU portal.

Ascension St. John is providing urgent care tele-medicine to anyone who needs it. Talk to a doctor 24/7 from home with Ascension Online Care. Use code HOME for a discounted $20 online urgent care visit. No insurance required.

When life feels uncertain …

CAPS is here. TU’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) remains open during this stressful time. Whether you are on or off-campus, you can contact CAPS for support.

Beginning March 23 until further notice, faculty, students and staff can receive counseling and psychological services.

Contact CAPS at 918-631-2200 to schedule a clinical consultation with a counselor or a non-clinical consultation with an outreach team member to learn about coping skills and other resources. All sessions will be held virtually.

CAPS can help you find services in your area if remote sessions are not an option.

The Self-Help Toolkit is a resource curated by the CAPS counseling staff with a variety of resources. From videos to workshops to counseling, find what is most helpful to you.

Controller’s Office requests

Beginning March 23, the Controller’s Office will print checks on Mondays and Thursdays, which will make the checks available on Tuesdays and Fridays. This is a shift from printing checks daily.

Contact Susan Bray at 918-631-2614 or susan-bray@utulsa.edu with any questions or concerns.

Library services

McFarlin Library will continue to support virtual teaching, learning and research throughout this period of change with a variety of services and resources.

Virtual services include remote research help, instructional services, online resources like databases, e-journals, e-books, research guides and interlibrary loan.

TU students, faculty and staff can log in to My Library Account to view and renew library materials that they have checked out through the library. There will also be limited book/material pick-ups.
