Giving Thanks (Employee email) - The University of Tulsa

Giving Thanks (Employee email)

Dear colleagues,

Reflecting on 2021, I want to express my appreciation for your continued hard work and for embracing the TU priorities of student success, innovative ideas, and community engagement.

When I began my role as president in July, I knew we had a long road ahead of us in order to bounce back from the pandemic while maintaining fiscal accountability. More work remains, but your talent and dedication have generated measurable progress. I have heard great things about your resolve during my meetings in the colleges and look forward to sharing information during the Q&A with staff on Dec. 1.

As a gesture of thanks, I am pleased to announce three additional paid days off: Wednesday, Nov. 24; and Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 22-23. I hope this gives you more time with family and friends during the holidays and allows you to rest and reflect on all we have accomplished together. Most campus offices will be closed during that time, so if you are unsure about your personal work schedule, please contact your supervisor or Human Resources.

As we contemplate next week’s break for Thanksgiving and Native American Heritage Day, TU acknowledges that our university is situated within the Mvskoke (Muscogee [Creek]) Nation Reservation. Recognizing the truths of our history helps us move forward with a more complete understanding and a stronger commitment to justice and inclusion.

With gratitude,

Brad
