Workshops promote the development of advanced placement programs
The University of Tulsa Division of Continuing Education will host the 18th annual Advanced Placement (AP) Summer Institute June 23-26, July 7-10 and July 14-17 on the TU campus. More than 900 teachers are expected to attend.
TU offers AP and pre-AP workshops to encourage the development of advanced placement programs while promoting highly effective teaching techniques and increasing the accessibility of AP curriculum. The institute will feature three individual sessions with workshops on AP English, art, math, science, social studies and world languages.
“The University of Tulsa Advanced Placement Summer Institute has grown to be the second largest AP Institute in our region,” said Dr. Phil Applegate, dean of Lifelong Learning at TU. “Few other programs better prepare students for college-level work than AP classes. Our institute is an investment in teachers, schools, students and the economic future of our state.”
Teachers and school administrators are encouraged to register for the event by visiting www.utulsa.edu/ap-tulsa.
