UTulsa also participates in the Yellow Ribbon program, an addition to the Post-9/11 GI Bill®, which provides full tuition to qualified veterans.

Ensuring that student veterans receive maximum support while working toward their degrees is a priority at The University of Tulsa. At the heart of this support system is the UTulsa chapter of the Student Veteran Association, the largest and most active chapter in Oklahoma.

Find Your Path

Did you know that TU is a Yellow Ribbon® school? Those that meet the requirements can received 100% paid benefits! Along with the Yellow Ribbon® program, you can find FAQ’s about your VA benefits to include the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill®, community resources and scholarships, as well as all programming for veteran and military-connected students via the McKee Veterans Success Center in 1025 Hardesty Hall or by contacting the MVSC staff!

Get Involved

Get involved in student activities by attending the Activities Fair in August. Find out about specific veteran interest programs like TU’s Student Veteran Association and other local community organizations specific to veterans on the McKee Veterans Success Center! Keep active and manage stress by using Collins Fitness Center. Talk to professors about research opportunities. Volunteer with True Blue Neighbors. Visit the Student Activities and Student Government Association websites for info on student clubs, discounts, intramural sports, and leadership opportunities.

Develop Goals

Develop long-term and short-term goals by talking with your academic advisor, professors, and veteran-specific student success coach. Visit your professors early and often to discuss your needs and coursework. Explore majors/careers within career services via the McKee Veterans Success Center and/or CaneCareers.

Attend Job Fairs

Go to job fairs and find internship and career opportunities. Contact Career Services and your college advising office for information. Get help with interviewing and resume building.

Get Personal Support

Personal counseling is available at no additional cost at Counseling & Psychological Services. Work through anxiety, depression, and other stressors.
Academic Resources

Get Academic Support

Set up a coaching appointment with a student success Coach to help with study skills, time management and adjusting to college life. Find out about academic accommodations for students with disabilities or get tutors for classes through Student Access. Use the Student Veterans Center in Norman Village to study and relax between classes, as well as enjoy free snacks. Tutoring services on campus are free!

Meet with Academic Advisor

Meet with an academic advisor to discuss declaring majors and developing an outline of courses for your time at UTulsa. Make an effort to meet with your academic advisor 1-2 times per semester. Make sure you are on track to graduate and taking the correct courses for your major and minor.
