Setting The Record: Forming the Largest human letter

post-largest-letterOn Oct. 1, 2015, an estimated 1,156 students, staff and faculty met at Chapman Stadium to form the Largest human letter. The event is being evaluated by GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS for possible inclusion in their annual international publication.

TU President Steadman Upham encouraged student, faculty and staff to participate in the formation of the letter “T” and said the activity was a great opportunity to unite the campus community and build school spirit. All participants were given free TU blue T-shirts.

The event also marked the 15th anniversary of Hurricane Thursdays, an annual series of events that the Housing Office sponsors each fall to bolster camaraderie and increase retention. TU had set two previous world records: the Largest finger painting and the Largest Twister game board. The old record for the Largest human letter was set on Aug. 30, 2015, in Amadora, Portugal.
