Making the transition to college can be both exciting and challenging for new students (and their families). The University of Tulsa is perfectly sized to offer students new experiences and the freedom of self-discovery while providing the comfort of a close-knit community.

In the office of New Student Programs and Services, we work all year to help students succeed quickly at The University of Tulsa and to find their first steps into the academic, cultural and social experiences available across campus.

Everything we do is designed to help students quickly acclimate to college life and make connections that will support them throughout their time at TU.

This fall, New Student Orientation will be August 19-22! New student move-in will be spread across three days, from Sunday, August 16th through Tuesday, August 18th. The Office of Housing will announce details on how to set up your move-in appointment this summer.

Our team is available to help with any questions through email at or on the phone at 918-631-3041.

  • New Student Orientation

The best stories have great beginnings. Start yours off right with our week-long experience designed to prepare new students for the challenges and opportunities that distinguish a TU education.

For the Fall 2020 semester, New Student Orientation will run from Wednesday, August 19th through Saturday, August 22nd. This five-day experience is filled with creative fun, personal connections, and practical tips for getting ahead at TU.  You can sign-up here!

New Student Orientation links every new student with one of our exceptional Peer Mentors. Through this 4-day experience new students learn pivotal information about campus life, discover campus organizations and services to help them succeed academically and professionally, and likely make some lifelong friendships along the way.  Learn more.

  • Transfer and Non-Traditional Student Orientation

A half-day event is offered each fall in conjunction with the broader fall orientation program for first year students. The August half-day event is typically attended by students transferring into TU with more than 30 hours of credit, and non-traditional students beginning in the fall semester.

For the Spring semester, all incoming undergraduate students attend the same half-day event. The next New Student Orientation will be held on Saturday, January 16th starting at 9 am. New TU students can register by following this link.

  • Spring Start Orientation

Every January we host an orientation event for students beginning their academic studies at TU in the Spring Semester. This half-day program connects new students with campus professionals, student leaders and on-site resources who can help students succeed quickly.

  • ImpactTU

ImpactTU is a short-term student success workshop held each fall for first-year students at The University of Tulsa.

This six-week institute highlights key skills and competencies leaders can put into practice as they transition into our campus community. This six-week program includes group discussions, presentations by students and campus leaders, weekly giveaways and a free meal at each meeting.

Students can expect to learn more about ImpactTU during Orientation and the first weeks of the new semester. Learn more here.
